Merry Christmas, important considerations

By Katherine Sabathie-Edwards • December 14th, 2009

This is the time of year where the to-do list just seems to get longer!

Each day is busy, it begins with a well intended to-do list, if all goes well many things get ticked off by the end of the day. On the other hand the list can get forgotten with the many other things that have not yet been thought of. The list then get’s transferred to tomorrow and so it goes on.

As the year winds down and the rush of Christmas is upon us, take a moment to reflect and be grateful for the major events you have ticked off your list this year.

As the year comes to a rapid close, you may find that some things you will have to transfer to next year’s list. Think about the really important ones, some that I hear often are: getting healthier, losing weight, kicking some ‘bad’ i.e. unhealthy habit.

Don’t leave deciding on your New Year’s Resolutions until New Years Eve, by all means proclaim on this eve, especially if you have a well thought out plan of action. Here are some questions to help you clarify:

What is your number one priority for your wellbeing in 2010?

Why do you want this new stage of wellness?

How did you decide on this target?

What will you gain from achieving it?

What has stopped you from achieving this outcome in 2009?

Who will you share, proclaim this target with?

You increase your chances of reaching your desired outcome if you tell others. Be warned: Tell those that you know will support, not sabotage you efforts.

Tell us your 2010 wellness targets, along with the what’, why’s, how’s and who’s to answer the above questions, and get the support you need to achieve them. post your comment below
